What's New at Mutine

May 2008

• Audiomat has announced the release of its new Opus 2 pre-amplifier and the Festival mono amplifiers. The Opus 2 is the successor to the highly regarded Opus pre-amplifier. The Festival mono amplifiers operate in pure Class A and utilize KT-88 output tubes.

• After a short absence, 2008 marks the return of Vecteur with a new line of electronics. Initial offerings include the Ai4 ($1100) and Ai6 ($2500) integrated amplifiers as well as a CD player, the CDi4 ($1100). The Ai4 is rated at 100 and 150 Watts/channel at 8 and 4 Ohms respectively. The more powerful Ai6 is a dual mono design with massive power supplies. It is rated at 150 and 300 Watts/channel at 8 and 4 Ohms respectively. Physically, it is a large and massive integrated amplifier. It is immensely dynamic and effortless sounding while still retaining the finesse and musicality of the lower powered Ai4. Both integrated amplifiers utilize Vecteur’s XDrive A Circuit technology. This circuit design enables the amplifier to operate in Class A at high power levels. Both of these integrated amplifiers deliver a lively, full bodied, highly dynamic musical experience. • Mutine has been appointed the Canadian distributor for Duevel loudspeakers of Germany. All the Duevel models are omni-directional loudspeakers. Prices start at $1500 per pair. More details can be found at the Mutine website.

November 2007

• Actinote has introduced their Aria range of cables. Initial offerings include: the MC interconnects, the NC digital cables and the CS 150 Plus and Signature power cords.

• New products from Audiomat : Prelude Reference 20 - technology from the Recital has been implemented in this new model that replaces the Prelude Reference Mk2. This model commemorates the twentieth anniversary of the original Prelude. The Opera Reference is a new model and like the Prelude Reference 20 it also incorporates technology from the Recital. More details regarding these two new integrated amplifiers can be found on the Mutine website. The Maestro Reference digital analogue converter expands on the performance and musical capabilities of the Maestro. It consists of two chassis with the circuitry in one and the huge power supply in the other.

• Mosquito has introduced the D-8 and D-10 subwoofers and twelve and fifteen inch models will be available soon.

• CEC has introduced three luxury components that are one half the width of standard components. These are the TL-53Z CD player, the AMP-53 integrated amplifier and the Tube-53 integrated amplifier.

• Mimetism has introduced their 45.2 power amplifier.
